Title: | Immortalized human stromal cell lines | Inventors: | Wager, Ruth E.; Rockville, MD, USA
Ourmanova, Maria; Boyds, MD, USA | Summary: | Described herein are novel immortalized human stromal cell lines, methods and uses thereof. The invention relates to a method for the culture of hematopoietic cells and the production of human cytokines using immortalized human stromal cell lines such that the ability of the hematopoietic stem cells to self-replicate and differentiate, and of their progenitors to expand and differentiate, is maintained by the media. Further disclosed are irradiated and non-irradiated immortalized human stromal cells that synthesize cytokines, such as, IL-7, IL-8, IL-11, FLT3L, SCF, LIF, M-CSF, TGF-beta 1, GM-CSF, MIP-1alpha, G-CSF, and MCP-1. Applications in the culturing of such hematopoietic cells and for the production of human cytokines are included. | Abstract: | A method for the culture of hematopoietic cells and/or production of human cytokines using immortalized human stromal cell lines is provided. These immortalized stromal cell lines condition media such that the ability of the hematopoietic stem cells to self-replicate and/or differentiate is maintained by the media or the ability of the committed progenitors to expand and/or differentiate is maintained by the media. Further provided are irradiated and non-irradiated immortalized human stromal cells that synthesize cytokines, such as, IL-7, IL-8, IL-11, FLT3L, SCF, LIF, M-CSF, TGF-beta 1, GM-CSF, MIP-1alpha, G-CSF, and MCP-1. | US Patent Website: | Click Here for Full Text of Patent | Title Number: | US6541249 | Application Number: | US2000000740789 | Date Filed: | 21/12/2000 | Date Published: | 01/04/2003 | Assignee: | Human Genome Sciences, Inc., Rockville, MD, USA |
